All legal residents can qualify for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act during the following time periods:
Annual Enrollment Period - For coverage starting in 2023, the Open Enrollment Period is November 1, 2022 – December 15, 2022. Individuals and families may also qualify for Special Enrollment Periods outside of Open Enrollment if they experience certain qualifying life events.
Special Enrollment Period - A time outside of the open enrollment period during which you and your family have a right to sign up for health coverage following certain life events that involve a change in family status (for example, marriage or birth of a child) or loss of other job-based health coverage.
Simply select "I do not have a qualifying life event but would like to shop for Short Term Plans" when asked if you have a qualifying life event.
Additional enrollment qualifications:
- All applicants must be legal residents within the state and plan service area. Non-citizen residents of the United States must provide proof of legal residency in the United States.
- Dependent children of the applicant or enrolling spouse/domestic partner must be under the age required by the applicable state laws and regulations. You can find the age limit in the enrollment application for your state of residence.
